Paddling is a sport built on repetition. The same movement, practised thousands of times, searching for a little more power, a cleaner catch, a better connection with the water. It can mean early mornings and long sessions, racing alongside twenty teammates or heading out alone. It asks for patience, commitment and the willingness to keep working at something that can always be improved. And while the reasons we paddle are different for everyone, there is something we all understand: progress is earned one stroke at a time.
WE BELIEVE EVERY
STROKE COUNTS
OUR WORK
Given our purpose, our work at Race Ready is to help paddlers improve, whatever their level, wherever they train and whatever the season. We build training equipment specifically for paddling, bringing together thoughtful engineering, technology and a deep understanding of the sport, then test and refine it with competitive paddlers and high-performance athletes. Beyond the equipment, we’re developing software and experiences that make training more useful and connected, while supporting the clubs, races and communities that keep paddling moving forward.
OUR VALUES
Everything we do at Race Ready is shaped by values that come as much from paddling as they do from building a company. They guide how we work, what we build and how we show up for the paddling community. As Race Ready grows from its roots in Toronto, these are the things we want to carry with us.
KEEP GETTING BETTER

OUR CULTURE
At Race Ready, paddling is part of the job, but it’s also what brings us together outside of it. Many of us train and compete across dragon boat, outrigger and other disciplines, so the sport is never far from the work we do. Time on the water, at training and around the racing community gives us ideas, raises questions and keeps us close to the people we’re building for. We’re a team that likes to train hard, go fast and keep finding ways to get better.
ON THE WATER
Paddling is where many of us met and where you’ll still find us outside of work. We train and compete across the sport, keeping us close to the paddlers we’re building for.
RACE DAYS
We don’t just watch from the sidelines. We race, coach, organize and support events, keeping us connected to the paddling community.
BUILT TO BE TESTED
New ideas don’t stay behind a desk for long. We get prototypes into the hands of our team, Team Riders and paddlers in the community, listen to what comes back and keep refining.
ALWAYS EXPERIMENTING
Engineering, software, sport and curiosity come together at Race Ready. We try things, challenge assumptions and keep looking for better ways to build.
OUR PRODUCTS
We design our products in-house in Canada, bringing together engineering, technology and applied science with a deep understanding of paddling. From the Perg Model 1 onwards, our focus is simple: quality, accuracy and performance in equipment that helps paddlers get more from their training. And we're just getting started.
OUR COMMUNITY
Race Ready has its roots in Toronto’s paddling community, and giving back to the sport that brought us together is an important part of who we are. We work with clubs, athletes and organizers, support local racing and build technology that creates new ways for paddlers to train and compete. From supporting clubs in our community to powering races with Race Ready Live, we want to play an active part in helping the sport grow.
OUR LEADERSHIP
Race Ready was founded by Wyatt Wong and Arcturus Phoon, two paddlers brought together by the sport and a shared ambition to build better tools for it. Combining backgrounds in engineering, technology, product development and business, they bring different expertise to a common goal: creating thoughtfully designed equipment and technology that helps paddlers train, improve and perform.
OUR PEOPLE
Race Ready brings together paddlers, engineers, developers, designers and athletes with different perspectives and a shared ambition for the sport. We’re a small, hands-on team, which means ideas move quickly and everyone has a part to play in what we build. Together, we’re working to create better tools, technology and experiences for paddlers everywhere.

2023 —
PRESENT
OUR TIMELINE
Race Ready started with an idea and has grown through years of designing, testing, listening and refining. Along the way, each prototype, race and conversation with paddlers has helped shape what came next. This is the story so far.
'23 —
THE FIRST STROKE
It starts with an idea: a better way for paddlers to measure and understand their performance.
'24 —
INTO THE WATER
Race Ready is founded, and an early Perg prototype makes its debut at the CanAm Dragon Boat Championships.
'25 —
BUILD. TEST. REPEAT.
Numerous iterations and multiple prototypes of the Perg and monitor follow, alongside software that brings together the Race Ready experience.
'26 —
READY TO RACE
The Perg Model 1 enters production, Race Ready Live powers its first races, and the Perg makes its public debut at the GWN Challenge.
